Terms and Conditions — StudyLeap
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the StudyLeap mobile application (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. About Us
The App is operated by:
Studyleap VOF
Reykjavikstraat 62
3543KB Utrecht
The Netherlands
Email: support@studyleap-app.com
2. Eligibility and accounts
The App is intended for people aged 18 to 35. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Date of birth is self-attested. We may close accounts that do not meet this requirement.
You must create an account to use the App. You may sign in with email and password, Google, or (on iOS) Sign in with Apple.
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity on your account. Notify us at support@studyleap-app.com if you think someone else has used it.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen. Deletion removes your profile and saved favourites. Content you already submitted (such as published place suggestions) may remain.
We may suspend or delete an account that violates these Terms.
3. Use of the App
3.1 Permitted Use
You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only — to discover articles, events, and places relevant to students in your city, and to create or join student activities.
3.2 Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Submit false, misleading, or spam content through feedback, event suggestions, place suggestions, or activity listings.
- Create or join activities for harassment, sexual solicitation, illegal activity, or to meet people under 18.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our backend systems, databases, or infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract content from the App.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its connected services.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
4. User-Submitted Content
4.1 Content You Submit
The App allows you to submit feedback, event suggestions, place suggestions, and activity listings ("User Content"). By submitting User Content you:
- Confirm that it is accurate and not misleading to the best of your knowledge.
- Grant Studyleap VOF a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the App and related services.
- Acknowledge that submitted content may be reviewed, modified, or removed at our discretion before it is published.
4.2 Content Standards
User Content must not be offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, illegal, or in violation of any third party's rights. We reserve the right to reject or remove any content that does not meet these standards without prior notice.
4.3 Activities and WhatsApp
Activities are meetups organised by users. Before you create an activity you must accept these Terms. StudyLeap does not host in-app chat and does not collect phone numbers. If an activity is confirmed, the organiser pastes a WhatsApp group invite. Opening that invite shares your phone number with WhatsApp and the group — not with StudyLeap. You are responsible for your conduct at meetups and in those groups. We are not a party to any meetup and do not verify that people who attend are who they say they are.
4.4 Reporting, blocking, and bans
You can report an activity or another user, and you can block a user so you no longer see their listings. We review reports and may hide listings or suspend accounts. A ban prevents creating or joining activities.
5. Intellectual Property
All content provided by Studyleap VOF in the App — including but not limited to articles, graphics, logos, the App design, and underlying software — is the property of Studyleap VOF or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in that content other than the limited right to use the App for its intended purpose.
6. Third-Party Services and Content
The App integrates third-party services including Supabase, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Maps, Google Places, and WhatsApp (only if you open a group invite from a confirmed activity). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.
The App may display links to external websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products, or services available through those links.
7. Advertisements
The App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. We do not control the content of these advertisements and are not responsible for any products or services advertised. On iOS, personalised advertising requires your consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
8. Location Data
The App may request access to your device's location to show nearby places. Granting this permission is optional. Location data is processed on-device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studyleap VOF disclaims all warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- The content in the App (articles, events, places) is complete, accurate, or up to date.
- Any errors will be corrected.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Studyleap VOF and its members, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed €50.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded by Dutch or EU law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Studyleap VOF and its members from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to the App
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without prior notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such change, suspension, or discontinuation.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the App, including by deleting your account, at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App, without liability to you.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting us at support@studyleap-app.com. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
